Objective: Identify examples of each kind of B2B model.

Scoring

This exercise is worth a total of 5 points. To receive full credit, you will need to review the four B2B examples we have provided below, and identify an example of a Catalog hub, an eProcurement hub, and an Exchange hub from this list. Once you have identified examples of each of these, list the name of the hub and describe how it represents the B2B model in question.
  1. Hub A: A site that brings together life science enterprises, researchers, and suppliers to streamline business processes, enhance productivity, and reduce costs, and offers researchers a one-stop-shop for laboratory supplies.
  2. Hub B: A site that offers the steel industry an e-business solution, with an online exchange that provides the tools to streamline procurement and sales productivity for prime and non-prime steel products, manages existing trade relationships and inventory, reduces transaction, marketing, and IT costs, and provides access new business opportunities.
  3. Hub C: A site that provides employee information commerce solutions that improve the management and communication of human resources, employee benefit, and payroll information.
  4. Hub D: A site whose software and services leverage a network platform to automate and integrate the internal and external commerce processes of buyers, suppliers, Net market makers, and value-added service providers. This site delivers a global e-business infrastructure that provides cost savings and revenue opportunities for businesses of all sizes.
